The Washington Post Café Concerts Series

Like live music with your glass of wine?
World music, a cappella ensembles and a spotlight on jazz highlight the over thirty FREE performances presented on the Café Concert stage during INTERSECTIONS 2012. Enjoy an “intersection” of art, culture and connection, before or after a mainstage show. Relax in the Atlas’ Kogod Lobby, meet and mingle with festival artists and fellow patrons over drinks and light fare from our café and enjoy live entertainment.

AC in DC
The best of DC college and high school a cappella groups converge to kick-off a day-long celebration of this popular “sing-off” style.  Featuring:  Duly Noted from George Washington University and Drastic Measures from Sidwell Friends School.  Right after, don’t miss Intersecting A Cappella featuring two top a cappella groups, Reverb and Euphonism, at 4pm.

Alpha Dog Blues Acoustic
Swing to unplugged Chicago style blues when Roger Hart wails on his signature harmonica, joined by singer/ blues guitarist Tom Muck. You'll hear some standard classics, a few jumps & originals and be treated to some great picking and harmonica riffs.  Hosted by The Corner Store.

Baltimore based indie and international recording artist Marc Avon Evans and his acoustic band bring an eclectic blend of city soul to DC. Experience what has made his Baltimore series, Acoustic Thursdays, so popular.  Tap dancer extraordinaire Quynn Johnson will "sit in" providing feet percussion!

The Fablers
Charlie Barnett and Marilyn Older may be best known for fronting the much loved band Chaise Lounge, but now and then they take a night off from their signature lounge sound to revisit their southern musical roots.
